Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you had a love filled day! My Mother’s Day was absolutely perfect. We swam in the river, hunted for frogs, went out to eat and went for a bike ride! Here are a couple of my pride and joy that made this day so wonderful!!

My friend is pregnant. Isn’t she beautiful? I feel so honored to be her photographer. She’s featured at the top of this website; the one with the bride and groom at Cannon Beach. Soon I get photograph her little one too!! I’m so lucky.

Today my kids surprised me at one of my photo sessions. After I was finished with the session, I took this quick snap of them. I just love it. It pretty much sums up what I want in life for them. I think I’ll blow this one up big and put it in our house somewhere.

Hmmm…what to say about these little cuties? Oh yes, I know. I LOVE THEM!! These are my nieces, Marley and Amelia. They remind me so much of my own kids because they look so totally different. My boys are salt and pepper too.

I don’t have any girls myself, so I relish the opportunity to photograph these cuties! Marley is spunky and outgoing. Amelia is observant and sweet. I just love both of their spirits.

Today we went to the University of Washington campus to try to catch some of the cherry blossoms in bloom in the quad. I think we caught the very last weekend for good color!

My Boys

This week I am on spring break. Yeah! Thankfully, remarkably, the weather has been great. We’ve been taking advantage of the nice weather and going to the zoo, the park and today, just a simple walk in the woods.

I took my boys down to a little area by my house. I knew it would be interesting for my boys because A) there were three small ponds and B) there were an abundance of sticks for them to play with.

I had one goal in mind today. Use my environment to shoot fabulous photos. I have to admit, when I walked down the path to the pond, I was a little worried that the environment didn’t hold many ‘gems’. There were lots of sticks, lots of blackberry bushes and lots of mud. I wondered how I was going to pull this off and then I remembered that what I do best is capturing my subjects; not the environment. My boys would shine regardless of where they were. Here are a few I came up with. Overall, I’m pretty happy with what I captured and I’m thrilled that they thought it was fun too!

My site is currently under construction! Naw, that doesn’t sound very fun. Let’s say, “My site is at the spa right now getting some much needed pampering.” Yeah, that sounds better.
